After becoming the the first local ground-handling service provider to be certified for best international practices last year, INAEC Aviation Corporation is aiming higher in 2024.

In 2022, INAEC obtained a Stage 1 Certification from the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH).

IS-BAH, launched in 2014, standardized the international best practices for business and general aviation ground handling service providers.

The Stage 1 certificate ensures that all safety procedures and standards are in place.

It confirms that a provider’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) infrastructure is established and safety management activities are appropriately targeted.

Next year, INAEC intends to undergo a Stage 2 IS-BAH Certification audit, to complete the process, the company announced.

The Stage 2 certification ensures that the company effectively manages risks via these procedure and standards.

INAEC achieved its IS-BAH Stage 1 certification after a rigorous audit by Morgan Garlinge of Texas-based Final Approach Auditing LLC.

The audit covered INAEC’s ground-handling operations in Manila, including aircraft marshalling and towing, fuel supply and catering, aircraft cleaning, maintenance services, flight coordination, baggage and cargo services, and passenger services.

“We noticed that our fixed base operators (FBO) services have been steadily increasing the past five years. We felt it was necessary for our ground-handling operations to be in step with the best international practices,” according to INAEC General Manager Dexter Ampong.

For that reason, “We thought of IS-BAH, which embodies the best industry practices on ground-handling and fixed base operations,” he explained.

“We wanted to demonstrate that everyone at INAEC, throughout each level of our organization, is committed not only to the safety of our operations but also to excellence in our service.”

INAEC has “a great operation in ground-handling and customer service”, according to Garlinge.

“They have a well-put-together training program that includes in-depth indoctrination of staff. INAEC is a professionally-run FBO,” he observed.
